It makes no sense.

I was actually wondering about the Democratic attempts to get "consensus" via a bi-partisan bill. Seeing as how Republicans are wholly opposed to health care reform, it would see to me that anytime you get a 60% vote on something that is consensus enough. Given that 60% is considered a landslide of epic proportion in a presidential election, why is it not enough for a vote on health care reform?
